After a failed attempt to build a new lift station for the Terre Haute Waste Water treatment facility, the sanitary board feels like it is ready to go with a new plan.
The plan stalled in late 2019 when ground water at the site was found to contain creosote from the Western Tar Plant that was formerly located there.
But the planners of this $58 million dollar investment had no way of knowing that the ground water would be contaminated.
The site is an EPA SuperFund site.

City officials devised another plan to clean up the groundwater in early 2020, but those efforts had to be abandoned due to astronomical expense.
Now, they are ready to try again. This time with a Shit-fire-and-save-the-matches plan.
How much will this cost?
Maybe the Powerdyne Shit to Diesel money that local leaders promised will pay for it. Oh wait, that was a scam. Pretend that never happened. Elected officials didn’t really want that.
Move along citizens, nothing to read here. Move along.
