The Vigo County Health Department says that the total number of Covid-19 cases has risen to 7 for Vigo County. 6 active cases and 1 death as of 11:59PM Sun. 3/30/20.
The virus has been rampantly spreading through the Vigo County since the end of Feb.
Tests are being reserved for those hospitalized, and health care workers.
Firefighters, EMS, and other essential workers are being told to return to work 72 hours after their fever has stopped and 7 days after first symptom appeared.
Anyone else that wants a test should move to a State that is testing those with symptoms or feel they have been exposed.
Health officials continue to monitor the situation.
Vigo County is not expected to see it’s peak corona virus illness until the end of April. Those walking around with the cough and sore throat of a mild infection should have the virus thoroughly saturated in the county by mid April with a 2-14 day incubation period placing the peak very near the end of April.
Indiana will not be releasing numbers of ICU beds available, ventilators, and the capacity of hospitals to handle the coming Surge of illness. Indiana Gov. Holcomb said this is due to agreements with individual hospitals. Governor Holcomb said he had the information, but would not release it.
