After nearly 20 years as Vigo County Prosecutor, five terms, and countless courtroom appearances, Terry Modesitt has received a verdict of his own.

On November 3, voters chose Johnny Vaughn over Modesitt, 14,116 to 13,340, according to unofficial election results.

Modesitt was first elected in 2006 and sought a sixth term in 2026. Two decades of experience certainly made for an impressive résumé.

But this time, the jury was the electorate.

Twenty years. Five terms. And finally, a change of counsel.

Guess maybe it’s back to taking money from dementia patients….Terry
